Welcome to the Plant Setup Assistant
The Plant Setup Assistant will guide you step by step through the procedure for registration and detection of your plant with:
- Sunny Home Manager
- Inverters with WebConnect Technology
The Plant Setup Assistant will also help you if you wish to add devices to your Sunny Portal plant or if you have replaced devices in your plant.
Use the [Next] and [Back] buttons in the Plant Setup Assistant to navigate between the pages.

Identify Communication Product

The communication product could not be identified. This may have several causes:
- Ensure that you have entered the serial number and the registration ID correctly.
Ensure that data transmission from the communication product to the Sunny Portal is not blocked by a firewall. - Ensure that the communication product is connected and operational (see communication product manual).
You will find the registration ID and the serial number on the type label of the communication product (see communication product manual).
Select Plant
You can create a new plant or select an existing plant in order to replace the communication product.
Replace communication product
Select the plant for which you wish to replace the communication product.
Device Selection
Select the devices that you would like to add to the plant. The following devices were found within the range of the communication product:

Devices belonging to another plant - If in addition to your devices, devices belonging to another plant are shown, set your devices to a free NetID (see Sunny Explorer software help).
- If only 1 device is shown, even though your plant is made up of more than 1 device, set all devices to a NetID other than NetID 1.
Skip:You can also add the devices to your plant later.
- For inverters with SMA Bluetooth Piggy-Back or SMA Bluetooth Piggy-Back Plus: if the inverters are not feeding in, select [Skip] and add the inverters when they are feeding in.
- If all devices have already been set to a unified password, enter this password as the plant password.
Extended Plant Properties
Plant power
The plant power is the sum of the power of all PV modules.
Specific Annual Yield
The specific annual yield indicates how many kilowatt hours yield you can expect per installed kWp in one year. Sunny Portal can calculate in advance a monthly yield forecast using this value, the plant power and the information on your plant location. You can obtain the specific annual yield for your plant location from your installer or from irradiation maps.
Limiting of the active power feed-in
The grid operator may demand the permanent limiting of the active power feed-in for your PV plant, this means a limiting of the active power fed into the power distribution grid to a fixed value or a percentage of the nominal plant power If necessary, contact your grid operator.
If the PV power generated over and above that used for self-consumption goes over the given limit, the Sunny Home Manager limits the PV generation.
Information: The plant operator is responsible for the correctness of the specification for the limiting of the active power feed-in and for nominal plant power.
Information: Make sure that your feed-in meter complies with the requirements (see the installation manual of the Sunny Home Manager).
