Description:
Willamette Ear Nose Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery has installed a 41.85 killowatt solar electric system. The system utilizes photovoltaic solar modules (or solar panels as they are most commonly referred to) to convert the energy of the sun into clean renewable power that feeds building. The system will generate around 45,000 killowatt-hours of power each year, the equivalent of powering 10 average Salem homes.
DC (direct current) power is produced on the roof during the day, and fed into 5 SMA Sunny Boy inverters, which switch the DC power into AC (alternating current) power that can be used in the building. The inverters report their hourly power production via the Sunny Portal website here.
The solar data available here shows how the system creates more power during the summer months, and less power during the winter. Feel free to navigate the webpages available here via the Sunny Portal. |
