Description:
Wahgunyah School of Arts public hall is a beautiful Federation style red brick and render building, built in 1912 and opened with a grand concert and dance! It has provided a venue for community activities for a century and continues to be used widely by the Wahgunyah community for a range of events including theatre productions, public meetings, kid’s art workshops, parties, functions, council meetings, and the like. The hall has a strong visual presence in Foorde Street, with its symmetrical façade and art deco sign.
The main energy users in the hall are the lighting, fridges and urn. The hall is heated using natural gas. The Committee of Management contributed some funds to increase the system size funded by Indigo Shire Council from 18 panels / 3.4kW to 24 panels / 4.56kW. The historical average daily usage of the hall is 12.3kWh/day. The 4.56kW ZEN Home Energy System has an estimated average daily output of 18.8kWh/day, and will cover an estimated 153% of the halls energy usage. That means the electricity account will be in credit!
