Description:
In July 2009 Autonomous Energy installed a 6.15kW solar power system at Wenona, one of Sydney’s leading independent schools. This system is one of many solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Sydney installed under the Commonwealth Government’s National Solar Schools Program.
The system comprises of 30 world record efficiency 205W multi-crystalline PV solar modules manufactured by Kyocera. The array is mounted on engineered, solar specific mounting equipment and is connected to a SMA SMC6000A inverter via premium quality (USE2 rated) DC solar cabling. The inverter connects to the electricity network via a bi-directional digital meter which enables Wenona to use the solar electricity in the school first and to export excess electricity produced to the electricity network.
A data monitoring system is also installed at Wenona to log and display a range of outputs from the solar inverter. This data is displayed on this dedicated web portal.
