Description:


Implementing this PV system required dealing with two different types of shading. First, the adjacent building casts a hard shadow all year long, as can be clearly seen on 15/8/2009 (a bright sunny day). Furthermore, two large trees cast a shadow on the building from September to March, which further reduces the yield. The array was optimized such that the shadow only affects one inverter at a time which maximizes power output. This sophisticated cabling of the panels makes the entire solar PV system economically successful even without the use of micro-inverters.
