John XXIII College has installed a 27.36kW solar system. The system will be used by the school to:
  1. explain the importance of renewable energy and sustainable living;
  2. enable students to learn ways to save energy, while reducing the school's electricity bill at the same time;
  3. provide an opportunity for students and the school community to learn more about renewable energy, and
  4. be part of the solution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Australia.
This installation was installed under the:
  1. National Solar Schools Program (NSSP), and the
  2. Western Australian Solar Schools Program (WASSP).
The NSSP is funded by the Federal Government. The WASSP is funded by the Western Australian State Government. This installation is a positive step the college has taken to be part of the solution to delivering a sustainable future for Australia.
