Description:
The 15.96-kilowatt grid-tied solar electric array at Winthrop High School produces roughly 21,000 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity each year. The system was installed by ReVision Energy in 2010 and has produced nearly 200 Megawatts of clean electricity since its commissioning, offsetting the equivalent of burning over 150,000 pounds of coal.
The system's production history up to 2021 can be viewed here. Data for 2022 and forward is available to students, staff, and the community on this site. With working lives of over 40 years, these solar panels will continue to benefit the taxpayers of Winthrop for years to come. |
